Measuring windows for curtains
A short measuring lesson before you buy curtains in Cameroon — poles, tracks, fullness and drop.
Pole or track
If you already have a pole, measure its width end to end. For a new track, decide whether it should run past the window so stacked curtains do not eat the glass. Inside a reveal looks tailored; outside a reveal blocks more light.
Drop
Floor-length looks calmer in living rooms. Sill-length suits kitchens and some bedrooms with tile that you want to keep clear. Leave a centimetre or two above the floor if the house is not perfectly level — many Cameroon floors are not.
